Memberships
MG Fowkes is a member of the following organisations:

CORGI (Confederation for the Registration of Gas
Installers)
Initially, gas installers could become affiliated to
CORGI on a voluntary basis. In 1991, however, the Health & Safety Executive
(HSE) asked CORGI to maintain a register of competent gas installers in the
UK. CORGI became the ‘Council for Registered Gas Installers’. CORGI’s
responsibilities have now extended to include Northern Ireland and the Isle
of Man and we are also working to improve gas safety in The Channel Isles.
Registration is now a legal requirement for businesses
and self-employed people working on gas fittings or appliances.
This scheme is designed initially to allow CORGI registered gas
installers to be able to self-certify the electrical installation work they
do in relation to the installation of gas appliances but will be open to
others in other areas of work activity in the future.

OFTEC
(Oil Firing Technical Association for the Petroleum Industry

OFTEC registered technicians are individually trained and
their skills are independently assessed before they can apply for OFTEC
registration. Upon registration they are re-assessed every five years.
This scheme is designed only for members of the OFTEC
installation of oil-fired combustion appliance (including the installation
of oil storage tanks and pipe) competent person scheme to be able to
self-certify the electrical installation work they do only in this context.
